Twin Cities: Uncontrollable Runs (Wk 7)

Week 7 is in the books, and it was a battle to the final out. This week marked the first hot enough day to bust out the slip n slide, and the team seemed a bit too interested in the soap and water than scoring runs. What started out as just home run attempts and then sliding into 1st, turned into a close matchup, as the the teams were tied 2-2 going into the final inning. With 1 out and bases loaded, the Runs sent a shot towards third, that ended with the runner getting tagged out en route to home. The grass was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli. The ball got about fifty feet out and suddenly, the great Bryant appeared before home. I tell you he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing the balls presence, Bryant let out a great bellow. I said "easy, big fella!", and it calmed his nerves. By the beard of Zeus the ball took a friendly bounce, allowing Bryant to tag home before getting hit.

This would ultimately become the winning run, as with 2 outs and players on 2nd and 3rd, the Runs were able to withstand the mighty attempts of Ball So Hard, and hold on for the win. At flip cup, the Runs brought back their strong efforts, leading to a 3-1 victory, capping off a strong night.

Next week will be another test before the playoffs. Injuries seemed to have plagued the team this year, as it appears the Runs will be with only 12 players come playoffs. Here's to an epic playoff run.
