Charity Update

Below is an excerpt from this season's sponsor "College Possible":

"I wanted to reach out to again thank you for the support your kickball league provided for College Possible students. As our program year comes to a close, I am so thankful for the generosity of the community members who partner with us. You’ve made it possible for students to have such a successful year and continue on their college journeys.

I attached a collage of images from an event we had in May called Launch. It was to celebrate students and their amazing accomplishments. You and your team are a part of that success, so I thought you’d appreciate seeing it."

Charity Update (Twin Cities)

Can you believe this season is almost over? Neither can we! So before we close out the spring, let me officially introduce our Spring Charity – The Special Olympics of Minnesota. Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, a world in which every single person is accepted and welcomed regardless of ability or disability. We like to think WAKA is like that too – all inclusive, no matter how good at flip cup you are. This season, our goal is to help the Special Olympics of Minnesota (SOMN) make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place — one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.

SOMN competitions happen all year in locations across the state – including a large summer Olympics this weekend. Be sure to bring cash on Thursday night for Raffle night and help us raise money to support their events! Wondering About Prizes?  Let me introduce your new charity co-chair Melissa to share the exciting prizes… My name is Melissa. This is my first season playing Waka - Twin Cities but I am no stranger to Waka. I recently moved back from Boston where I played for three years on a team called the Superfreaks and my name was “The Ruthless Avenger"… need I say more! I am pretty much a utility player but like playing 2nd or shortstop when I get a choice. I am glad that Joline and Jackie took me under their wings in the league because our parties rock and I can’t wait to introduce myself on Thursday when we sell raffle tickets. Now… for the prizes… First Prize: $75 Uber Cab Gift Card Second Prize: $50 Darby’s Gift Card (that you can use at our playoff party on Saturday) Third Prize: $25 Mystery Prize!!!  Keep your eyes out for Jackie and Melissa on Thursday selling raffle tickets!

Scavenger Hunt Photos

Kickball Scavenger Hunt

Hello my  balling friends! I hope all of you are having a fantastic evening, are enjoying the sun, and have a drink in your hand. But don't get too nuts because....

I know I'm a minute late with this, but the scavenger hunt is TODAY! If you have done it before, you know how amazing and fun it is, and if you haven't done it before, well, come, and then you will also know how amazing and fun it is.

Let's meet up circa let's say 11.45 am at Legends. Come, have a drink before we start, get a team all situated, and get ready to win! Just kidding, I'm more focused on the first half of that statement than the second, but whateves.

So seriously, come. It's really fun. And if you have friends who aren't signed up for kickball and are down for a good time, you don't have to write their name on every bathroom stall, just bring them along.

It's $15 dolla bills per person, but it includes dinner and also gets contributed to our charity fund for the season, so dollas well spent.

And if you haven't signed up yet... DO IT NOW! Shiiiiiiiiiiiit.
