Week 4: Kick This

Hello dear GMOT blog reader.  How are you?  If I may say so that top looks lovely on you.  Brings out your eyes.  Why am I so sweet?  Because the following story may depress you and you'll need all the pick me up you can.

The grass was slippery, ditto for the ball and when we took the field against Pitches Be Crazy we should've read the too wet for grasping signs. Pitches Be Crazy struck early taking a 2-0 lead.  We kept them in place with some mighty defensive moves.  Michelle "watch this" did the splits when she tried catching a pop up at first.  Henry "Two Outs" was able to catch a line drive near third and throw out their runner at the same base.  Matt "Cali Bombs" Aiken also threw out a runner at third.  We tied them at 2-2 at the end of the game, but we mutually decided to play another inning.

Pitches Be Crazy scored two more runs.  It was down to us.  We scored one more and had runners at 1st and this lovely author (the tying run) at second.  Drew "I don't need no stinking razors" came up to kick, nailed a line drive to right.  It was an impressive kick, I started hauling tail to home, then suddenly, an anti-miracle happened.  Their female second base person somehow caught the ball, ending our chances.  It was a tearful moment.

However, at flip cup, we were merciless and defeated them 3-1.  This was how we chose to honor Geiger's birthday, our ever awesome pitcher.

And, yes, your hair looks stunning.

Week 4: Bunt Pirates

The Bunt Pirates killed it on the field with MVP Bridget "NASCAR" C. really taking one for the team when Timmy took her out at second base. Even though the play was eventually declared a foul ball, everyone knows Timmy would have been out.

The Bunt Pirates celebrated their victory at the field with Bret M. and then toasted a few birthdays afterwards at Whisky Park. Who Dat Booty?

Week 4: Hold My Beer and Watch This

Hold My Beer And Watch This! Woo! Let me assure you, all were watching last week as HMBAWT faced off against Alcoballics, though they may have been actually watching the plethora of man thighs in jorts on the field rather than the actual game. Whoa.. what? I think I just lost my train of thought on that one…

Anyway, HMBAWT rebounded from a rough couple of games to dominate with a 13-0 victory. Perhaps most importantly, the Flabongo was back in action (sort of)! Nate not only kicked a home run and got several fellow drinkers, er kickballers, home, but he also did his part in helping the environment by rounding third base, stepping on an empty beer can and crushing it, and then making this way onto home. What a guy! But wait! There’s more! A certain co-captain forgot to add the Flabongo into the kickball bag (ah hem Kicklord Johnson) from the car, and alas, both captains (despite this girl clearly being innocent) ended up getting Iced and Nate had to settle for shot gunning a beer.

Other items of note are as follows:
·         Laura slid onto first base (twice). Looks like we got a Punto on our hands!
·         Justin is growing a beard that makes him look like a lumberjack that is questionable at best, and was the source of the majority of our conversations in the outfield.
·         I got hit in the face with a ball (no matter what you say Mason, it happened. And all I wanted was sympathy. Thanks Will for holding a beer on my nose to make me feel better).
·         Morgan demanded the opposing pitcher to “drop his pants,” but she didn’t have much luck. Rumor has it he was hiding jorts, but I’m not so sure.
·         Taylor played in ridiculous boots and continued to be ridiculous as he dodged, ducked, dipped, dove, and dodged the ball to get around the bases. That’s dedication to the theme right there.
·         And since I’m writing this it can be all about me (right?!) so I also kicked a double annnnnnd had a double play! Obviously, I was drunk.
·         The highlight of the game, however, was clearly Will getting fouled out. Ha. No other descriptor needed.
The good spirits continued on at Whisky Park, as HMBAWT continued to do what it does best. Drink beer and flip cups for another astounding 3-0 victory. Week five, we are so ready for you!

XOXO
You know you love it!

Week 4: You Kicked My Battleship

#Merica' #Fuckyeah #Beer

Week 4: Booze on First

We also drank 3 gallons of White Russians and did 60 Jell-O shots!
[GMOT editor note ... Booze on First wins the P.I.M.P. for this week, enjoy!]
It ain't easy, so Booze on First did it!

Week 4: Ball So Hard

SWEEP TO SWEPT, BALL SO HARD SHOT A COW

Bryn Mawr, MN - Ball so Hard started off week four strong with a clean officiating performance from Roger, Cory, and Phil. Led by some correct foul calls by Roger. With the game looming, newcomer, Emily came through big for the team by finding a box full of booze at place and having in trunk to help get the team where they needed to be by the start of the match.

Falling down by two quickly in the top of the first, Ball so Hard battled back with one of their own in the bottom with a single by Lauren M. a double by Jason and a sac fly by Carlos. Boot by Foot tacked on another in the second to push the lead to 3-1. A couple of dive attempts by Cory J. at the hot corner and a spectacular double play by Halaina led the defensive attack for a pair of innings. A quick homerun in the top of the fourth pushed Boot by Foot head 4-1. Ball so Hard countered with two of their own with three singles in a row by Adam, Erin and Annie. The score remained unchanged until the top of the seventh when Boot by Foot poured it own with four coming across home plate. Ball so Hard did not threaten in the bottom half of the inning to complete the game. With the record sitting at 2-2, Ball so Hard is right where they want to be mid season.

The focus turned to the bar scene. The team came in very confident in their flippy cup skills coming off a 4-0 victory last week, only to drop the second game of the two game set 3-4. Boot by Foot proved to be too superior with quick drinking and smooth flipping.

Ball so Hard will look put the week behind them in week 5 as the will try to shake the Stage Five Clingers @ 6:30 p.m. on field 2. Team finally took some photos as you’ll see with a couple of photo bombs. Song of the week… we’ll fight til it’s over, like the ceiling can’t hold us (fyi: the music video is incredible so a strong recommendation to watch it… dog sleds and camels in the same video, really?!)

May 21, 2013

Welcome to Week 4

This week's theme is Nasty NASCAR!

So channel your inner Danica Patrick, or Ricky Bobby for Talladega Nights (err... Nasty NASCAR) both at the field and at the bar. Get ready to challenge your rival team at redneck bar games at Whisky Park!

Your ideal dress might include a racing suit such as... "Shake and Bake!"

But if you're a normal person and don't have a jump suit in your closet get creative! Think to your self "what items might I see at a NASCAR event?" Or "How can I look like a hillbilly?"

So here are some ideas:

Never forget a trusty pair of Jorts!

And finally if anyone can do this at the field it would be awesome!

See you on the field!
